Over the past two decades, the international popularity of basketball has increased dramatically, making it a perfect platform to engage urban youth, both locally and abroad. Ace Hoops was founded in 2008 in honor of Andy "Ace" Wiersma. It is a faith-based 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization with a vision to expand the impact of basketball far beyond lined-courts and gymnasiums. Ace Hoops engages this sport to build evidence that youth who are captivated by actively pursuing a healthy interest will grow in knowledge, good character, & social awareness.
